Best Friends Already

The other day I found Eliza on the bed with Adeline and they were talking to each other face to face. Eliza was jabbering things to Addie and Addie would just laugh and jabber back. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. I think my girls are pretty lucky to have each other. I hope they always stay as close as they are right now.

Adventures in Babysitting

Last Sunday Whit was letting me take a rare Sunday nap and when I woke up this is what I found. I think Sunday naps are going to become even more rare at our house.

Trying to be Mom and Dad

The other day the girls went into the closet as Jaynie, Lillie and Eliza, but came out as Dad, Mom, and Mom. This has now become their favorite game.

Happy Birthday Whitney!!

Whit turned 30 on February 3rd and I made the most delicious Ice cream cake. I found it online at http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,176,156178-246198,00.html I modified it a little using a chocolate cake and two cake rounds with the ice cream in between. It was so good I think I will just make different versions of it for all of our birthdays. Yes mom I will put it in with my recipes for the family cookbook.

Lillie's First Day of Preschool

Lillie started preschool in February. She is going to a local church preschool. I have been really having a hard time with Lillie going to school in August because I just haven't felt like she would be really ready so I decided to try a preschool two days a week as a kind of trial and error. to my surprise, I have discovered that school is definitely where Lillie needs to be. She has learned more in her three weeks at preschool than she ever learned at our little home preschool. I guess she needs someone besides mom telling her things in order for her to believe it. I am very excited at how well she is doing and now feel totally confident that she will be ready to go off to kindergarten in the fall. Oh and I am really not a bad mother sending my child to school in her pajamas it was actually pajama day at school. They ate waffles and had hot cocoa (not hot chocolate) for snack and read stories with pillows and blankets. What a great first day.

Our North Carolina Snowfall

It has snowed twice this year here in North Carolina, but I am sure everyone from Idaho would just call this a skiff, but hey we take what we can get. The girls were very excited and had to get on full garb to go out and play at 8:00 in the morning so we could enjoy it before it all melted away. My favorite part of this picture is Jane's (our neighbor) snow suit. Since we don't need them very often it is hard to buy a new one when you already have one, but I think Jane is in desperate need of a new one. She wore this one when she was three.
